The Department of Transportation just announced the recipients of its $1.5 billion TIGER grant program,the US DOT’s first attempt at a competitive grant program where projects of all modes compete based on their ability to meet national goals. Last Monday, Minnesota became the fifth state this year to introduce complete streets legislation. Bills SF 2461 and HF 2801 will ensure every road construction, reconstruction, or rehabilitation project funded partially or completely by the state to follow a complete streets approach.
